BUILDING SEARCH TECHNIQUES;
2-DAY COURSE, 12 TO 16 SPOTS, $250 PER STUDENT

This is a comprehensive, real-life approach on how to safely perform the art of building search techniques, even when resources are limited. This class is designed for large and small agencies with an emphasis on a minimal amount of officers that will be needed to safely accomplish a search. The class was designed for patrol officers and SWAT teams who become engaged in slow and deliberate searches. Theory and principles of searching will also be discussed, as well as perimeters, arrest teams, weapon, and suspect control. Searching techniques, such as blocking, and the CORRECT way of how to pie rooms and doorways will also be taught. We base our search techniques on a first threat concept to enhance officer safety.

OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING COURSE;
1-DAY COURSE, 16 TO 30 OFFICERS, $90 PER STUDENT.

We believe that this class is probably one of the most important classes that any officer or anyone who carries a gun as a tool for their work can take. The class takes an in-depth approach to the issues regarding an officer-involved shooting. The class will take the officer through the before, during, and after stages of a shooting. Issues such as training, policies, and mind-set preparation, legal and psychological issues will also be discussed. A shooting is one of the most personal events that an officer can be involved in. Instructors in this class have all experienced the unfortunate situation of an officer-involved shooting. We will also look at events that have led to officers becoming victims when they should have been successful.

SEARCH WARRANT ENTRY TECHNIQUES;
2-DAY COURSE, $260 PER STUDENT, 12 TO 16 SPOTS

This is a very intense and dynamic class which deals with techniques, mind-set, and the theory behind any and all search warrant entries. We will cover planning, approaches, room-clearing, and search techniques, first threat theory, suspect control, weapon control, and officer-down scenarios. In this day and age, patrol officers are faced with the possibility of taking part in a search warrant scenario. Unfortunately, they are not trained to handle this type of situation. This class is designed for basic SWAT, as well as patrol officers, and any unit that serves search warrants, such as narcotic teams or community policing teams. We believe that there is always a potential for violence when serving any type of search warrant on a residence or business and there are people involved. Reality-based training is a key factor in having a positive outcome in an actual scenario. This class will definitely give the officer the tools and mind-set preparation training to increase officer safety while engaged in their mission.

ACTIVE SHOOTER;
2-DAY COURSE, $250 PER OFFICER, 12 TO 16 SPOTS

In this day and age, the possibility of an active shooter incident happening in schools, hospitals, churches, courtrooms, or any workplace is very high. The only things that are going to make a difference in saving innocent lives are the immediate and proper action, education, mind-set preparation, and proper training of the first responders. We believe an aggressive, rapid response is the only way to handle this type of incident. In this class, we will discuss the difference between an active shooter and a hostage situation. Taking immediate and proper action will be a main focus point.

We take the time to show the students and have them perform various room-clearing techniques that will minimize the threat entering unsecured or hostile areas and the importance of an aggressive movement to the suspect. Threat assessment, weapon control, and firearms training and personal focus are other issues that will be addressed. The goal of this training is to give the officer the ability and confidence to survive and deal with such a violent encounter. During an active shooter incident, time is our worst enemy, we must be prepared….what if it was your child’s school, how well are the first responders trained?

PEDESTRIAN OR SUSPICIOUS PERSON STOPS;
1-DAY CLASS, $125 PER STUDENT, 16 SPOTS

Responding to a suspicious person dispatch, whether the suspect is on foot or in a vehicle, has become one of the most dangerous scenarios an officer can handle. There is usually very little information regarding the person from dispatch, other than a brief description. This puts the officer at a huge disadvantage. There are, then, numerous officers attacked, injured, and killed handling this type of call. A serious question that needs to be asked is: How many of these injuries or deaths could have been avoided if different tactics or a different mind-set was used? This class covers approach, mind-set, and contact during this call. We realize that small departments usually have an extended delay when an officer needs backup. What really needs to be addressed is how important it is for this officer to contact this person by themselves.

In this class, we will discuss techniques that an officer can use to help put them in a safer position of advantage by the use of cover, distance, voice control, and commands and the use of equipment that they have available to them. We will also discuss how to survive a violent attack by suspect with either a gun or a knife.

VESSEL SEARCHES;
1-DAY COURSE, $125 PER STUDENT

With the increasing cost of housing, more of the criminal elements are purchasing small to medium-size vessels to live on. They can purchase a livable size vessel at auctions at a minimal cost and live comfortably on them. Because of this, crime in marinas and harbors have been increasing, primarily boat burglaries, grand and petty thefts. Violent crimes are also on the rise in and around the same locations that house this type of element.

Searching a vessel is extremely difficult, as there is little or no cover available and very little room to move. The elements around you also present a different type of challenge and danger that can have an impact on officer safety. This class covers approaches, search techniques, tools, mind-set, communication, control of suspects, cover and concealment, and how to train in and around this environment. Adjusting search techniques to a vessel size is important to consider, as well as considering various types of tools to use or not to use for officer and suspect safety.

HOSTING A CLASS

Hosting a class is an excellent way for your agency to cut the cost of putting their officers through a training course. If an agency or company decides to host a class, that agency will have to supply a classroom in a training facility that will compliment the course material. If there is travel involved and the instructors now require an overnight stay or extended distance, then that agency will need to supply accommodations and travel expenses for the instructors.

If an agency decides to host a class and there are 12 allotted paid spots, that agency will receive 3 free spots as long as 12 paid spots are filled. This means there will be 15 students in the class. The agency that hosts a class will be responsible for filling all the spots. As a corporation, we will also announce your class on our web site.

Final Option Enterprises also offers professional and experienced consultation for security companies and private industry. We also offer consultation on policy issues, force options, and expert witness testimony.
